Papers of Napoleon Bonaparte Van Slyke, a prominent 19th century Madisonian who headed the First National Bank (1853-1908), served as assistant quartermaster general of Wisconsin during the Civil War, and at various times was a member of the city council, University Board of Regents, and State Historical Society Board of Curators.
